Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith has been creating music since he was in elementary school. After studying brass instruments, he taught himself how to play the piano. He began improvising his own pieces and would spend hours sitting at the keyboard playing whatever ideas came into his head.
He studied music for two years at Missouri State University where he was a member of the Honors Symphonic Band (euphonium and trombone), Marching Band (baritone), and Jazz Band (piano). In 2002, he and his wife, Zoe, moved to Taiwan where Matt completed his university education at National Chung Hsing University in Taichung.
As a composer, Matt has written music for television, movies, cartoons, and advertisements. He composed the score for the short film, Reflections, which won the New Talent Best Film Award at Taiwan Cinefest. Matt also worked on the score for the Chinese produced Kung Fu action film series, The Shaolin Files. He has written songs and provided original music for the Lords of Legend television series and is currently composing for several feature-length films.

Kenneth Yang is quickly making a name for himself as one of Taiwan's most talented young composers. Ken began writing music after teaching himself to play the guitar. What started as simple tunes quickly developed into complex and exciting compositions as Ken started using MIDI sequencing software to arrange his work.
His prodigious talent allowed him to quickly find work in the industry working on scoring for Pili's Puppet Anime. His style is very cinematic and incorporates symphonic orchestra along with
After joining Zoetrope, Ken has worked on a wide variety of mediums and genres. He wrote the musical score for the award-winning short film, Cry 2, which was chosen to participate in the Cannes Film Festival. He also worked on the Malaysian Kung Fu Film, Fist of Dragon as well as various animated productions, films, television programs, and games. Ken is also currently working on several feature-film scores.
